Day Seven: Learn to SKATE

Background:

Every human deserves love, support, and to be treated fairly. However, if we are so used to be treated unfairly, we may begin to think it’s normal. This is where our Personal Bill of Rights comes in. These rights apply to all humans and should be used and remembered so we treat ourselves in a way that builds a positive mind, higher self-esteem, and a better connection to ourselves and others.

Learning to SKATE with us, can help encompass the main elements interwound within our Personal Bill of Rights.

Action: Watch This Video

Action: Self-Care

Check out the full list of personal rights. Identify 3 rights where you think you could reframe your thinking to increase your understanding of your personal rights.

  • Example: I have the right to make mistakes and not be perfect. Do you feel this way? Do you believe you have to be perfect? Not letting go of that stress and pressure to be perfect hinders us from fully being who we’re meant to be.

  • Example: I have the right to change my mind. Do those around you allow you to change your mind? Do you allow yourself to change your mind? What kind of things prevent you from carrying out this right for yourself?
